So, those of you who live in the neighborhood may have noticed the paper in the windows and the conspicuous absence of the Night Light sign. Rest assured that despite some nervous speculation to the contrary, the Night Light is not closing down. We just decided that with the smoking ban and all it was a good time to take a couple new-year days to give ourselves a kind of bar version of a spa treatment. We are manicuring our floors, having our drapes shampooed, refinishing a couple tables, and for those of you who are currently trying to figure out how to survive being forced by a certain act of the Oregon legislature without having to either quit smoking or contract the super-flu by having to stand outside in a blizzard to rip down a butt, we are covering the back patio and adding heaters.

We are re-opening Friday, January 9th. We'll have live jazz from 7-9 and snacks and champagne to inaugurate our sweet-ass newly nip/tucked space. Everything cool will still be there except for the ashtrays including our regular killer menu in case canapes just ain't doin' for you and our signature winter cocktail menu. At ten, the lights get a little lower, the music gets a little funkier, and the Night Light gets a just a little sexier and we go from cocktail party to "Oh, Hell yeah it's Friday Night". And, as always, still no cover. Ever.

And check out our new art show by Portland's own Annalou Vincent, bringing a little spring back into this odd and ridiculously cold winter season. Artist reception to be in conjunction with re-opening cocktail party.

See you there.
